Over the holidays we have a tendency to over indulge…and I mean, how could we not, right?! All those family favorite recipes, gathered around the table with family and friends, one meal turns into two or three. Eventually we need to find a way to burn off some of those holiday calories and get outdoors a little bit!
The great news is that here in Tucson the holidays are an excellent time to head outdoors. The weather is cooler, you can hike without so much fear of dehydration or bursting into flames from the sheer heat of it all…there’s no better place than Arizona’s Chiricahua National Monument for some holiday hiking.
It’s nicknamed the Wonderland of Rocks and for good reason. The unique rock formations that dot the region are amazing. They are so unique and fun to explore and photograph.
There are trails that go from .2 miles up to 10 miles in length so you can choose one that suits your needs and your fitness level, which means the entire family could go for some fresh air, some calories, burned, and some excellent together time under that big blue sky!
