Every foodie knows that there are places in town where you can get the best taco, or the best burger. There are also places to go when you want the best margarita. And in Tucson, “the best” is no small title. Here’s where to find the best margaritas in Tucson.
Where to Find the Best Margaritas in Tucson
Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar | 6390 E. Grant Rd. Tucson, AZ | (520) 298-2020
I know it says “Wine & Burger Bar,” but Zinburger is known for their creative drinks as well as their amazing burgers and milkshakes. Take the Pineapple Poblano Margarita, for example. Combining Jose Cuervo Especial with Ancho Reyes, pineapple, and lime to make a drink you can enjoy with your amazing burger. Make sure to check out Zinburger’s Burger and Shake of the week before ordering–they’re only available for a limited time, and they’re usually delicious!
Blanco Tacos + Tequila | 2905 E. Skyline Drive #246 | (520) 232-1007
Looking for something fun and new? Blanco boasts a few classic margaritas and always has something up their sleeve–well, behind the bar. Classic margaritas include the Skinny, Classic, Pomegranate & Grapefruit, Mixed Berry, Blood Orange, Mango Jalapeno, and my personal favorite, the White Peach and Hibiscus. The “something up their sleeve” refers to their seasonal margaritas. Ask your server for the off the menu choices. In the past, their Plum & Gingerbread holiday margarita was off the charts delicious!
Chuy’s Mesquite Broiler | 7101 E. 22nd St. | (520) 722-5117 | 7585 S. Houghton Road | (520) 664-0303
Chuy’s is a laid back local favorite where you can get your margarita by the pitcher and share with friends or family. Karaoke is a favorite Chuy’s weekend activity, though it might take a few margaritas to get you started. Though a little loud, the entire family is welcome at Chuy’s. Your kids will love playing “I Spy” with all of the fun decor on the walls and ceiling. Local tip: The best food pairing with a margarita at Chuy’s is the mesquite-grilled chicken street tacos.
Saguaro Corners | 3750 S. Old Spanish Trail | (520) 886-2020
A newly revived family favorite on Tucson’s far east side, Saguaro Corners has an extensive drink menu that includes several margaritas. Their Prickly Pear margarita is the tastiest one I’ve tried yet, and it has a sweet but tart hint of pink lemonade to it. From classic margaritas to Prickly Pear and even Spicy Jalapeno, you’ll love the margaritas and the atmosphere at Saguaro Corners. They Reservations are required Thursday-Saturday unless you don’t mind a long wait–the live music on those nights draws quite a crowd! If you have little ones that might not like the music, they’ll love dining inside where you can view the local wildlife through ceiling to floor windows.
Cafe Poca Cosa | 110 E. Pennington St. | (520) 622-6400
The biggest secret in Tucson is Cafe Poca Cosa–where you can get an upscale, date night, and casual feel all in one place. Treat yourself to amazing dishes made by chef/owner Suzana Davila with a menu that changes nightly and is written on a chalkboard. Pair the chef’s specials with one of the all-time best margaritas in Tucson (not too sweet, and not too strong) and you can have the time of your dining life. After dinner, you have to try one of the specialty cupcakes offered at Cafe Poca Cosa by local bakery Cup Quequitos.
